Childhood Memories
and Personal lifeVicky was born on July 12Th, 1991 in
Chembur,
Mumbai. He is a single child in his lovely family. From his childhood he had a very energetic and playful behavior. Till his teenage he was more fascinated by sports. He started learning Karate under
Shito-
Ryu Style. He was very much appreciated and encouraged by his parents. They supported him a lot.
Rishi was born on 14
th October, 1990 in
Mumbai. From his child he is more fascinated and attracted towards football. His favorite club is Arsenal. Before cumming into music scene he was totally sunk under the football lifestyle.
Rishi also have a lovely family, where he got all the supports and care from childhood.
Turning point with musicRight from the childhood Vicky and
Rishi were close friends. They became friends when they were 6 to 7 yrs old, grown up together, played together and dreamed together. Both were grown up with a mixture of western . They grew up in big scientific place named B.A.R.C, where no music, sports, etc is tolerated. People with long hair and long beard are considered as rouges. Vicky was more inclined towards pop and rock music like
Bon Jovi, Bryan Adams, etc. He was a very big fan of Michael Jackson, which was introduced by his father. His father Mr.
Mohan was totally drowned with old western music like Beatles, Abba, Bee
Jees, etc. His father was a very big fan of Michael Jackson. He was totally impressed by his singing and dance, which later introduced to his son.
Once Vicky had a mp3 disc which was a collection of all western pop and rock songs, which later turned his life into a different track. In that disc he heard the entrance music of
WWE star Stone Cold Steve Austin, which made him bang his head automatically. He was fully impressed with the heavy and rocking music. He began nodding his father, “what genre is this”. Since his father was more into western music, he could explain his son what the genre was. Vicky went in searching for the music very desperately. After a vigorous search, he got two disc from his neighborhood friend Bryan, in which one was
Metallica’s Ride The Lightening album and other was Iron Maiden’s Number of the beast album. So the first metal song was Fight Fire with Fire by Metallica. He went on a long trip after listening that song. The third disc was Slayer’s “Hell awaits” album. This turned his life and taste entirely into metal. So he says that, his father introduced him into metal and will always love him for that. Slowly he injected his music to
Rishi. He gave him Maiden’s disc, so his first metal song was Maiden’s Wicker Man. The same happened with him. He shifted himself totally to metal.
Inspiration and careerBoth helped each other in collecting metal discs, and started spreading metal music among their friends. Both were more attracted toward the fast and heavy music, which is officially known as “THRASH METAL”. They started believing, following and worshiping metal, in which they started loving thrash music more. But right from the beginning Vicky was more intrested to play his music. He started doing air
guitaring by putting some
Metallica and Slayer songs. Both started taking
Metallica and Slayer as their idol. They were more inclined towards 80’s thrash metal. Slowly they started getting all the collections which included ANTHRAX, EXODUS,
SEPULTURA,
KREATOR, SODOM, etc. These music attracted them a lot and dragged them brutally into the taste of 80’s metal.
In the middle of Feb 2005 Vicky(when he was 12yrs old) and
Rishi went for a school picnic. By that time Vicky was very confident and made his decision that he wants to form a band and wants to become a rock star. So in a
play full mood he asked
Rishi “Let’s make a band, and settle our self with music”.
Rishi gave a positive reply and both started blabbering around that they are going to make a band. They even don’t know to play how to play the instrument but still had the will and courage to make a band. Till the end of 2006 they never even touched any instrument. By the middle of April 2007 they started playing guitar. Both wanted to learn the metal riffs more than the classical songs and no one was there to teach such techniques, so they started practicing on their own. They started playing the guitar when they stepped into their high school. Both were very much eager to go on stage and perform. In March 2007 they got their first electric guitar . After having their guitar they never thought for anything, just marched ahead with only one dream, that to play on stage. Without any proper gears and techniques, just to satisfy their heart they went on stage covering
Metallica and Slayer songs. They performed in all their high school festivals and programs. They just went on stage with a zero percent knowledge of sound and instrument.
(High-school days)
They
didn’t care for anything; just to satisfy themselves, formed a high school band and started performing
Metallica and Slayer songs. By the end of 2008 they learned required things about the guitar and sound. They learned how a band should be and how to take music as their career.
After their high school, Vicky and
Rishi jammed together. By that time they decided what to compose and how the band should be.
They noticed that during 2008 – 2009, the whole world was dominated by metal core and new age music. There were very few old school metal bands around. Right from the beginning they had a kind of revolting and challenging behavior. So finally they decided to make a thrash metal band. After that they started jamming and composing seriously. From their attitude and behavior they derived one word and named the band ZEALOUS. Vicky stood up for writing lyrics and taking management part of the band. He does all the booking, marketing and managing part of band. He deals withh all commercial activities.
By August 2009 both started looking for drummer and bassist. Vicky knew JP from INFERNAL WRATH (
Mumbai based death metal band). JP introduced his student Shiva to Vicky. Later they started playing together and the drummer position was sorted. But Shiva cleared few things to Vicky before starting
together that, he will not be
permanently in the band. He will fill the gap
until a permanent
drummer steps in. Now only bassist part was left.
In the mean time they got a friend named John who filled up the missing bassist part until a permanent one steps in. Finally band was almost ready, though they
didn’t had the permanent bassist and drummer . They started working on the songs, and the
temporary line up was formed.

ZEALOUS was formed by Vicky later joining up up his friend and rest of the people. In the starting of 2010 they started hitting stages with their metal music. And within 3 gigs they came in
BINDASS article under "Best upcoming debut band of the season". Within a couple of moths, Somesh replaced John as their permanent bassist.
After hitting stages and spreading their music, they went into the studio to record their debut EP. Their EP was mixed, mastered and engineered by Akash Sawant. Along with their debut single release , they got booked to release a live DVD
In the beginging of October 2010, they are planning to release their debut singles which features 3 tracks : Black label society, Extrinsic dominance and Survival of the fittest and Tribute to Cliff Burton live at Mumbai B-69 Bajaao DVD.
